Divisions

The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office is comprised of 15 divisions, staffed by over 140 dedicated individuals who are here because they love our justice system and want to remedy its flaws. These good and principled people approach their jobs with compassion and transparency, embrace new ideas, and spend every day enforcing our laws in service of justice.

It is when we come together to implement solutions – including addressing the root causes of crime – that our communities are safer and fairer. That is why, since the moment Eric Rinehart was sworn in as Lake County State’s Attorney, he has significantly staffed up the Victim Services Division, created the Violent Crimes Unit, and increased resources in the Cyber Crimes Division

Our country’s strength is grounded in our ability to work together. To achieve our office’s goal of seeking justice, all Lake County State’s Attorney staff share a mission to vigorously and ethically prosecute criminal acts, work with our criminal justice partners to make our communities safer and fairer, and act with empathy and compassion for the victims of crime while holding unwavering respect for the rights of the accused.
